8 Best Solo Travel Destinations in 2024: Travel Alone!
Hey guys, today I’m going to tell you my favorite and best solo travel destinations in 2024.
Poland
So I’m going to start with Poland. I’ve been traveling for 6 years, and I’ve discovered Poland very recently. It was a very big surprise for me, as I’ve, you know, had some experiences traveling around Europe, where you know it’s expensive and it’s not the best for solo travelers, but Poland really surprised me. It has amazing prices, you know; it’s very underrated in my opinion as a destination; and it’s full of solo travelers.
Everyone that is traveling around Eastern Europe and, you know, Central Europe will be coming to Poland. I did a whole article about the food in Poland, and yeah, I would definitely recommend you if you’re looking for a hidden gem and something that not a lot of people know about.
Chiang Mai
The next best solo travel destinations would be Chiang Mai, and this is one of my favorite destinations ever. My favorite thing there is the elephant santuary. You know, you can interact with elephants; they treat them in a very ethical way, so definitely come check them out, and you know it’s just such an incredible experience to go there. One of the great things about Chiang Mai is that, as a city, it’s great, but the nature around the city is just incredible, so definitely explore places like Mawang Pie. You know, the craziest landscapes are there.
Budapest
The next one’s going to be Budapest, and Budapest is my favorite city in Europe for solo travelers. It’s so much fun; you know, there’s lots of parties if you’re into that, and it also has a really chill vibe. Vive the mix with the incredible temples, you know, it’s such an incredibly, you know, culturally rich city and a little bit chaotic, and I think that gives it, you know, that bit of an edge of a groove that makes it so much fun to explore. There are also the terms of saeni, which are these, you know, termal baths, which are incredible outdoors, and overall, it’s an amazing city with so much to do.
Canary Islands
The next best solo travel destinations It’s in my country but a little bit outside of the main peninsula, and this is the Canary Islands. I am from Spain, and you know we sometimes underrate things that are close or familiar to us, but the Canary Islands, guys, this is the Hawaii of Europe, only way way more affordable and accessible. It’s so nice to travel around the Canary Islands. There’s, you know, Vendura, which I discovered this year, incredible nature, Larot, a full volcanic island you can visit.
Grand Canaria is really rich in culture and very diverse in the ecosystems. You know, you can go to the top of the mountains, you know, in the ecosystems. You know, you can go to the top of the mountains, you know, on Rocko, and see, you know, this Alpine kind of landscape on top of the volcanic mountain, and then you go down and you can visit the more desertic dunes of Mas Palomas. It’s an incredible destination, and it’s full of solo travelers, full of you know, like life, and definitely a great destination if you are there for you know to socialize. There’s again like lads of parties and lads of people who are traveling alone, so definitely the Canary Islands are a m and Grand Canar. I would say for solo travelers, it’s been my favorite island.
Greek Islands
The next stop is the Greek Islands, and I’ve had so much fun in the Greek Islands. I’ve been there four times. I’ve explored many different islands, you know, Mikono and Sorini, but the best ones are the less known or touristic ones. If you’re traveling, especially in the summer, it’s going to be busy, but islands like Naos or Paros are really, really authentic, and definitely the whole experience you want in the Greek Islands.
Greek food is amazing, you know Greek culture, it’s incredible again, the parties, the vibe, you know, everyone is so lively and upbeat, and there’s lots of travelers, lots of young travelers there. Uh, I remember this island, EOS. If you are interested in partying, that’s the best party island I’ve ever been in my life. I don’t party that much anymore, but when I parted, when I used to party, um, more. I, you know, I enjoyed EOS so much, especially for young people.
Philippines
The next one is the Philippines, and the Philippines is a country that I’ve discovered in 2023, and I’ve been there two times. I’m going back for a third time in the beginning of 2024, so you understand, I love this country. The thing is, it’s not as crowded, so it’s not really for amateur solo travelers traveling from one island to another. It’s kind of a hassle. You know, it’s a little bit difficult, so you know it’s not for someone who hasn’t traveled alone that much, but if you have some experience traveling alone, definitely go there.
You’ll find the best VES in Southeast Asia. Amazing food. I did a whole content about Filipino food right here, and you know you can visit cities like Manila, which is a really nice city, but also amazing islands. The star of the show is the islands, and they’re so beautiful, so definitely go to the Philippines.
Thai Islands
If you want a more accessible or easy-to-travel option, I would recommend you go to the Thai Islands, specifically the Gulf Islands, which are Kofan, Kosamu, and Kot. Those are easy islands to travel to; they are affordable, and most importantly, they are full of backpackers, and you know, there’s lots of people from all around the world. You’re going to have an amazing time, so if you’re not an expert traveler, definitely go there. If you want that island experience, you can scuba dive, you can go on snorkeling tours, and it’s just the most beautiful thing ever. You will love it, and it’s easier to travel than in the Philippines.
US
Next, I’m going to talk about my favorite city in the US to travel alone. I’ve realized that backpacking or traveling alone is not as popular in the US as it is in other countries. You know, there’s a lot of solo travelers that I’ve encountered on my trips to Asia and Mexico. Maybe in Mexico there’s more Americans, but you get the point. You know, a lot of them are from Europe or Asia. You know, I’ve met solo travelers from South America. There’s not that much of a backpacking culture in the US itself, but California would be the best bet for that.
San Francisco is my favorite city for solo travel. I had an amazing time there, and you know you can find people from all around the world. It’s a very open-minded city, and you know, it has a legacy from the Heppie era, so you’ll know it’s expected to be a little bit more open and to meet people, uh, in a matter that you would do in places like southeast Asia.
However, the US is full of amazing cities, and even though hostels are a little bit expensive in places like New York and Chicago, you know they are amazing, so definitely still you know you can explore the US. I’d say stick to the cities if you don’t want to drive by yourself for a long time. If that’s your thing, that’s okay, but I think the US is good for a road trip with friends if you’re going into the country.
For best solo travel destinations, a city would be really fun. So guys, I hope you enjoyed this content. Make sure to share your travel friends, and I’ll see you guys in the next adventure.
